Pharmacological action:
Dipana has hepato-protective, choleretic and immunomodulatory
actions.
Dipana prevents liver injury by toxic substances
(alcohol, drug preparations etc.) preserving liver's
cellular texture by restoring glutathione level.
It decreases the number of free radicals due to
its antioxidant effect and also has membrane stabilizing
activity. By increasing the flow of bile it helps
in the early excretion of toxic substances from
the liver. Dipana promotes restoration of liver
cells` structure and functions, normalizes composition
of bile and its flow, and inhibits connective
tissue formation in liver.
Dipana has an immunomodulating activity influencing
the innate components of immune system, accelerates
recovery from illnesses.
Dipana improves the condition of patients with
liver diseases, improves cognitive function in
patients with liver diseases.
Indications
Dipana is used for the treatment (including as
a part of combination therapy) of the following
diseases:
- Acute and chronic hepatitis including viral
hepatitis
- Alcoholic liver diseases
- Liver steatosis of various etiology
- Cirrhosis
- Toxic liver injury (due to the administration
of anti-tubercular, anti-diabetes, anti-arthritis
drugs and antibiotics with known hepato-toxic
effects).
- Dyskinesia of bile passages including the
pain syndrome after cholecystectomy (cystectomy)
- Prophylaxis of gall stone formation.
- For patients exposed to radiation, radiotherapy
and chemotherapy
- During rehabilitation period after operations
and long-term diseases to normalize the immune
status
- For children with low appetite and weight
caused by various disorders
- Non-Alcoholic fatty liver disease.
Dosage:
Adults: 2-3 tablets, 2-3 times a day as directed
by the physician
Children: Children
older than 10 years 1 tablet twice a day.
Dipana tablets should be taken before food or
drinks with sufficient amount of water.
Contraindications
Individual intolerance to any of the preparation's
components.
Adverse effects
Allergic reactions are possible.
One may experience the following transient phenomena:
dryness of mouth, nausea, enterospasms, diarrhea,
sleep disturbances, cephalalgia, and diuresis
increase. With continuation of treatment these
symptoms pass off.
Warnings and Precautions
During the treatment adequate intake of fluids
is recommended.
In pregnant, breast feeding women and children
less than 10 years of age consult physician before
use.
Presentation
- 12 tablets are packed in a blister and
four such blisters are packed in a unit carton
along with package insert.
- 90 tablets are packed in a green coloured,
labeled HDPE jar, along with a silica gel
bag, Free space in the bottle is filled with
hygroscopic cotton. The jar is sealed with
foil printed’ Dipana’ and fitted
with a dark green colour cap. The jar is in
a unit carton along with package insert.
Storage
Store at or below 25°C in a dry place, protected
from light.
Keep it out of children’s reach. |
