Agent.
Composition : Each ml contains
1. Diclofenac Sodium BP 1 mg
Pharmacology : Diclofenac is a non steroidal
anti-inflammatory agent. It produces its effect
by inhibition of metabolism of arachidonic acid.
In the eye, it has anti inflammatory effects,
reducing irritation, pain and swelling of inflamed
eyes. Intra operatively it can be used to maintain
mydriasis produced by other mydriatics. This action
is due to inhibition of synthesis of prostaglandins,
which have been identified as the cause of intra
operative miosis
Indications : Diclo-F Eye drops are used
for
Inhibition of intra-operative miosis during
cataract surgery.
Post operative eye inflammation.
For prevention of pre and postoperative cystoid
macular oedema associated with lens extraction
and intraocular lens implantation.
Post-traumatic pain.
Non-infectious inflammatory conditions like,
chorionic non-infectious conjunctivitis.
Other ophthalmic procedures e.g. ALT (Argon
Laser Trabeculoplasty), PRK (Photo Reactive Keratectomy),
Excimer laser procedures.
Treatment of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis.
Dosage : 1 drop every hour preoperatively
beginning 3 hours before ocular surgery and 1
- 2 drops, 3 - 4 times daily after surgery.One
to two drops two to three times a day or as advised
by the ophthalmologist.
Contraindications : The preparation is
contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity
to NSAIDS. Do not use contact lenses during therapy
with this product.
Special Precaution : In case of over dosage
flush the eyes thoroughly with water.
Adverse Effects : Transient burning sensation,
keratitis, photosensitivity, ocular allergy and/or
delayed healing.
Presentation : 5 ml glass & plastic
vial.
Storage : Store at a temperature upto 25oC,
protected from light. Keep out of the reach of
children. |
